Still making progress

Outside work continues on the house and casita to finish up siding and get the roof installed.   If the weather cooperates enough this week we should be done with the majority of the exterior paint, siding and roofing.

Inside mechanical s finished up this week and inspection was completed.   Sheet rock work has started on some interior walls on one side to still give access to mechnicals as they fix a few items required by the inspector.

Foam insulation should start once the roof is on.

Paint and Floor stain

Floor staining was finished on Sunday and it came out as we wanted.  We were going for a dark, mahogany color and that is what we got.

Caulking and painting continue on the outside.   We have three colors going on.  Fascia boards get a bronze color to match the roof, sofits and walls are getting two different greige colors which is a cross between gray and beige.

We got lots of rain coming this week so expect things to slow down a bit.

Staining the floors

There has been a lot of behind the scenes work going on the past week plus with the home build.  I've been out of town traveling for work and the weather has been quite rainy, but the utility trades workers have been in getting things done.   HVAC and Plumbing are roughed in, electrical is mostly done and now attention has shifted to the floors.   When the foundation was poured we had extra time put into floating the finish to make the floors more suitable to staining.   Staining and sealing should be done in two days and the floors will be covered with protective ram board.

It's NOT yellow!!

We've had a bad week for weather so it slowed some of the activities down on the house, but work still continued.  HVAC and Plumbing are done, electrical has started, all utilities should be ruffed in within a week.

On the exterior we had more land cleared ripping out a lot of the cedars around the house and opening up the front.  Met with pool builder and we are starting the design for the pool.

Lastly, more board and batten going up, and it is not staying yellow, it's just primer!
