Ridge line is up

Ridge line is now up with most of the rafter work complete.   Roofs over front and rear porches as well as casita are only roof lines remaining.    

Soffit and fascia work with remaining sheeting should all be wrapped up in the next week.    Windows set to arrive soon and roof sheeting in approximately two weeks.

Lots of rain

This week things slowed down due to some serious rain.   Wednesday-Thursday we got over 3.5" of rain and then picked up another 1/2 inch on Friday, pushing the total for the week north of 4".   Most of the work the crew got done was soffit and fascia trim, conditions were just too bad for them to get to the main roof and trusses.   We have a good weather pattern in the forecast and should see the place dried in within two weeks.

Was able to get out to the ranch today and fly our latest toy at the Reeder residence.  A Hubsan drone with HD camera.  It's a small quad copter with an integrated camera.  I spent about 100 bucks getting everything needed to fly this little bird and about a week inside practicing flying.   My flying skills are not the greatest yet, but it does give another perspective to the home build that cannot be captured in just pictures.   Enjoy the birds eye view.

Second story rooms framed

Stopped out after work today and the second floor sub floor is down and framing is complete.  While I was there the crew put up some second floor sheeting and started a few roof trusses before dark.   Things continue to move along at a rapid pace.

Zip Walls continue

Haven't been able to get out to the property much since Jen is recovering from surgery.   Some very hard rain also slowed the crew down some, but they are still moving along.    I probably wont get back out to the weekend to see what is going on and expect it to look like a much different place by then.

Framing continues and sheeting in some areas

Second floor of casita is framed up and sheeting is starting to go up.   Some bad weather put the crew out of work today but at the rate they are going anticipate they will have the house sheeted by the end of the week.

More framing

Framing continues, more lumber showing up in the next few days including sheeting.

First floor framed up

First floor is mostly framed.    Finish op of first floor and second floor to start when the engineered flooring trusses arrive.
